From Tappit Hen. Burnished red colour, slightly cloudy appearance; 50% opaque. Complex nose with rhubarb acidity lying over a golden syrup sweetness; sweet and poised entry with mature fruit mixed with secondary brown sugar and more golden syrup. Vibrant acidity keeps the focus and maintains a wonderful elegance to the Port. Warm on the aftertaste, slightly hot with an elegant and slightly nutty finish that reminds me of the burnt rhubarb juice that you find around the edges of a baked rhubarb crumble. A really beautiful glass of port. 96/100. Drunk 21-Feb-17.
