V97. I noted only 90% red-purple, and lovely but far too young.

A bottle acquired by DRT from Seckfords in about 2005. Deep red in colour, opaque centre. Youthful nose showing a bit of spirit, violets and some dirty blueberry. Smooth, so smooth, entry with lots of sweet fruit that is smooth and rounded on the palate. Still showing a touch of primary fruit flavours and barely any tannins, just lots of dense and fragrant fruit. Plenty of acidity gives structure. There is some heat on the aftertaste before the delicate and sugary Parma Violets takes over. Sweet and fruity on the finish and a gentle flavoured length. This is nice port but too young, and paled when compared to the other two ports drunk the same evening (Krohn 1965 and Dow 1970). 89/100. Drunk 10-Apr-17. Decanted 24 hours.
