Clef Du Vin

Afternoon chaps,
I have been reading/seeing alot about the new hot thing in wine, the Clef Du Vin. If you have not already heard of it ,Google it and have a read.
Basically it is supposedly a tool that lets you "age" a wine by exposing it (via dipping the Clef) to a special alloy they have created that reacts with the wine. Apparantly a one second dip equates to one years ageing!
This supposedly allows wine buyers to glimpse what any particular wine should cellar/age like,so as to remove some of the guess work from buying ,for example, En Primeur.

Does anyone have one of these/tried one?

If it does work(which i doubt) would it work its magic with port??

Any thoughts appreciated!

Money back guarantee if your wine tastes different from natural aging!

(Proof of purchase required; minimum natural aging period of 10 years applies.)

there was a huge post on winespectator's forum about the clef du vin,

they said it does indeed change the taste but not necessarily in a good way.

believe some people mentioned a metallic tone to the wine?

winelibrary.tv also had a review on it where gary left it in for like 10 minutes to signify 100+ yrs of aging. To which he proclaimed the wine tasted like a 2 year old wine. (I'm generously paraphrasing the events and adding my own dramatic flair to the above stories)

I tried it on a 2000 Petrus and basically had to dump the bottle down the drain...

Just kidding... Not one for gizmos or innovation when it comes to wine.
