I have taken the liberty of booking a table at the Boot & Flogger as AHB and I are both in town and likely to be thirsty next Wednesday! The only space available is the 'Private Room', which AHB advises would not suit more than 6 people for a TPF event. We're full (assuming JDAW gets permission...)

Or a variant. Bottles blind. But each person is to declare for whom the bottle is brought. For example, I have a bottle that I have been saving for BMHR. So that would be “JDAW (for BMHR)”. Would people willing to play with a theme of “Blind, For Somebody”?

Sorry I will now be in Wales during the day and I (and my +1) can no longer make this event.

I take that question to be confirmation of your availability?

I do like your variation on the 'blind' theme, although perhaps that should be an optional one. In which case, the bottle could be labelled 'A treat for ABCD' and an extra point could be awarded for anyone even vaguely guessing why it was so labelled. I would have to think very hard to find something suitable, but I don't rule it out!

Could I please add myself for a spot but will need to confirm on Monday if that is okay.

I'm going to find it a bit of a challenge to fit with both themes. I may have to ignore the ABV requirement if I am also going to make the "...for ABCD..." requirement.

The overarching objective is to drink some interesting port in good company. Don't let rigid observance of the 'theme' distract you from that!

Excellent. I can easily cope with this theme clarification.

I can indeed come along... but may not be there until 7pm or just after as I need to wait for Rosie to get back. Please carry on with the food as I shall skip that on this occasion, and I shall join for the fine juice as soon as I can.

Placemats: any more bottles ‘for’ anybody? Other changes?

Because on US Legal, I'll print at home this evening.

I plan to bring two half bottles rather than a single full bottle.

JDAW. Will you indulge me a pair of bottles please. 'for' you and AHB. I appreciate it is a school night but I'm sure it won't go to waste!

To comply with the theme I will need to bring a back up bottle as the main one I have in mind may be stunning... but there is a distinct risk it may not, and I don't want to provide bad juice whilst enjoying other fine bottles.

Edit: the main bottle is for Charles

Would anyone mind if I took a 'PNV' (ie 'Presumed Non Vintage') approach? I have a bottle that falls into this category which I believe I know what it is but my cellar records are less than perfect...

Ten is too many for USLegal, so now two sides of A4. Which relieves me of printing duties — volunteers please.

Erk! That's nine bottles between 6 of us and I have a 9am meeting on Thursday morning in London. I think (a) I need to do a JDAW and drink 9 pints of water before we start and (b) I need to find a room to stay in London overnight.

Apologies, but I won't be able to print as I will be away from the office all day.

It’s OK. Relax. In an emergency we could buy another from the B&F.

'For JDAW' and 'For AHB' decanted at 6.15 and returned to bottles with t-stoppers. All is good.

Printing also now done. Any further changes will have to be manually dealt with.

I decanted my two half bottles at approximately 07h30.
