Re: 1966 Fonseca
F66, brought by Tony. Dark dark red, 70% opaque. Big, and long, and not quite mature. Lots of cherries. Almost could have been an ’85.

Re: 1966 Fonseca
Glowing red colour, mature tone; 80% opaque. A touch empty on the nose at first and then a big dose of sea salt and ozone. Quite thick in texture, smooth entry with lots of fairly youthful fruit — vigorous and spritely; robust yet having been softened by time. A big burst of fruit on the aftertaste before a slight woody tone comes into the flavour profile. The finish is long and full of vigorous fruit. Delicious fruit. Served blind this was guessed to be Dow 1985. 94/100. Drunk 10-May-17. Decanted 8 hours.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
