Drunk at a Vinum lunch after a tour of the new Graham's Lodge Visitor Centre. Wine Society bottled. Mature brick red colour, 70% opaque. A lovely nose of sweet fruit with a hint of woodsmoke and some alcohol or mint vaguely protruding. Smooth and flavoursome on entry with sweet dried dates and raisins matched up against lively white peppercorns. Some heat shows on the aftertaste, which is full of red aniseed balls that give quite a spicy bite and is followed by a long and lively finish of good length. This is a good example of a delicious and mature port. 88/100. 20-Jun-17. Decanted 5 hours.
