1997 Calem
Tasted at the Confraria dinner. Deep red colour, smelling of soft bruised fruit. A lovely texture with big tannins in the cherry fruit. The tannins are ripe and firm, really nice. A much burlier and less elegant wine than the Ferreira tasted alongside. 90/100. 22-Jun-17. Decanted 12 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
