Seckford tasting

Post by Doggett »

Is anyone going to the Seckford tasting at the Naval & Military club this evening? I am hoping to get there for the 6.30pm start and will look forward to seeing you there if so.

How was it?
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Not bad although they had been bowled over by the response which meant that they had to pull the RP 20 yr tawny from the line-up meaning that the only Port on offer was the G97 which is still a bit closed (although that did not prevent me from having a good drop of). Simon and I stayed the course before decamping to the nearest hostelry. However, the lack of food and water over the course of the evening took its toll physically and particularly financially (as an expensive taxi ride home from Winchester would atestify) :(
