CáF70, decanted 14:30. Dark dark red, 70% opaque. Softer and sweeter than the Cá70, and brighter too, perhaps because of the hint of spearmint. Fabulous, though I preferred the Cá.

Bottled by the Wine Society. Mature appearance, 60% opaque. Unpleasant antiseptic nose, smelling like domestic lavender polish that is very offputting. The polish shows on the entry as a very unpleasant edge, and turns into a palate full of soap and washing-up liquid. There are hints underneath the soap of something quite good but the overall combination is not good. There is lots of soap on the aftertaste and very long finish but the whole impression is of something that should not be drunk — I wish I had not taken a sip of this. NR. 5 hour decant.

Did JDAW and I really have the same wine?
