1983 Calem
Re: 1983 Calem
Cá83, decanted 14:30. Dark dark red, 60% opaque. Another big Port, showing well, especially for a vintage of which many bottles can be disappointing. The mid palate slightly dry.

Re: 1983 Calem
Deep red, mature but without the brick tones of the older vintage. Soap and cranberries on the nose, almost identical in smell to the vintages 1970-80. Hollow entry, little fruit and lots of dry, dusty tannins. The soapy but fruitless palate is blank and empty. Dry cheeks on the aftertaste highlight the cranberry bitter finish. Sour and unblanced, this is not a pleasant port. 80/100. 5½ hour decant.
