It is perhaps significant that ten days after this tasting no one has posted a review of the evening, so here goes.

I did not take detailed notes but on the night of the tasting I sent the following summary to a friend on WhatsApp...

"A good tasting, not a great tasting. The old wines were tired - 1908 flat and flabby with no real redeeming features; 1912 very good, but not at its best; 1920 Crusted good early on but fell apart quickly; 1924 old and tired; 1927 good but nowhere near the best it can be; 1935 was a 1950, and not as good as the other 1950; 1955 was excellent; 1960 was OK, 1963 was good but not great; 1967 was very good; 1970 was excellent; 1975 was better than expected but no more than an average glass of port; 1977 re-corked was dull; 1977 original was very good."

Hey-ho.

Thanks for arranging this tasting. A huge amount of work required to balence out all the contributions. A very good summary below!
I am afraid my votes are on the sheets! It was good to see the 1967 doing well, this is a wine that is often available at auction at the present.

Thanks for all the hard work- world class admin!

Tasting notes:

Note: on the evening, we opened what was expected to be a 1935 Cockburn and discovered it to be a 1950 Cockburn, hence two entries for 1950 Cockburn in the tasting notes.
