I’m already on the list, but confirming same.
May I invite a guest, Dave A., who is the husband of a friend of
the wife ? And I’ll bring a magnum.

Of course Dave A. is welcome.
Do we get two guesses at the Magnum?

I’m against this precedent. Would we get only half a guess at a half?

Given our skills at guessing I'm not against two goes. Bringing a blind magnum in two bottles is enough to confuse us. More guesses might give more points and more joy (but probably won't).

Answering the request for volunteers. New to TPF and would very much like to attend. Can bring two bottles ..one for enjoyment (hopefully) and one to confuse (well it does me).

If two bottles creates an issue for the placemat software or methodology then will restrict myself to just the one......

You are very welcome to join us, Simon.
Occasionally additional bottles turn up and we have been known to cope admirably
Are you left or right handed?
Usual form is to enjoy a meal during the tasting. We normally pre-order to make life easy for the staff so if you intend to eat please select from
this menu and post your choices of one, two or three courses here.

The food order can be downloaded from the first port. Please check.
A "Simon P." existed in a previous order so I have left those choices in. If not the same Simon P or different choices wanted please say here.

Draft of
the placemats updated. (Simon P.: Have you middle initials?)
Would seven bottles between five be too much for a school night? Should the magnum be saved for another day?

Thank you very much for letting me join. I am a new SimonP!
Taking your point on numbers I will bring just one bottle if that helps.
I am right handed.
I do have a middle initial C.....SCP (which I think another member already uses?)
Food order please
Duck Pate
Rib-eye steak (medium-rare) and skinny fries....seems popular and suits me.

Permission had indeed been granted.
A small error on the food order - Simon is after pate rather than crab.

Both of these reductions seem to have been implemented (which is fine), but only one is reflected on the placemats.

Neither have been. As our numbers grew, two extra went from generous to about right. What do you want done?

I’m bringing a mag. If I were the only person to bring double, I’d feel lonely and vulnerable and <insert stuff here>. We surely wouldn’t want that. So you do your special thing; I’ll do mine; and everybody wins. Happiness!
PS: it’s good whatever you decide. We like Port. We have some. We’re winning.

I will bring two. I am now rethinking what to bring. Whatever happens it will be two. Do I just turn up clutching bottles and decant on arrival or is there anything more I need to do first?

We love you.

Standard practice is to decant in advance. Screw-cap wine bottles make excellent disposable decanters. Or you could double-decant: decant into something clean; rinse original bottle; decant back into that; wrap in tin foil so that it’s blind. Sometimes I decant into a proper decanter — maybe more than some others I rather like an old-school proper decanter. Or turn up clutching bottles and decant on arrival.

Thank you. The B&F has asked to move us to the upstairs room, as green room is needed. Of course I conceded, but it'll be a squeeze.
