20% opacity, butterscotch, yellow rim, brown centre. Soft apricots and sweetness on the nose. Rich mouthfeel, lovely lemon/orange marmalade. Full and syrupy, fruit still in wonderful shape. Good acidity which is superbly balanced, aftertaste persists for an eon. Absolutely fabulous port.

Slightly cloudy and orange brown in colour; to taste, very sweet, some toffee, good acidity and flavour - very tasty.

Bottled by Gentley & Shaw of Huddersfield. Burnt ochre colour, slightly cloudy with a hint of green; 10% opaque. Gentle nose with hints of dried herbs, no sign of any fruit. Nice thick texture on the palate with some date-like sweetness and a lot of concentrated orange oil. A touch of dirt in the flavours, but a lovely mouthful. Lots of acidity and cracked pepper on the aftertaste; big finish with generous spicy aniseed that fades to end with a soft bruised apple. Good length. Returning two hours later, this was sweeter with more cinnamon and a great length finish. 89/100. Decanted 1½ hours.
