80% opacity, dark red. Fresh entry, tannin mid palate, black pepper, red fruit, acidity a little weak so feels a bit flabby.

Deep red colour with a wide rim. Fresh nose of sweet canned red cherries enlivened with a little All Spice. Lovely. Sweet red fruit entry, still quite young and punchy with a dark dry core. Air highlights the dry core and the powerful tannins. Dark canned cherries dominate the late palate, always fresh and vigorous - very alive around that dry, dark core. Fruit and dryness flows onto the aftertaste and into the dark chocolate finish, which slowly allows the cherry to come back. Although flavoursome, this is unbalanced and in need of more time to develop. 88/100. Decanted 5½ hours.
