D17: Very long and soft, with soft red fruit — raspberry becoming blackberry. Delicious to drink young.

Later still excellent. Acidity showing more clearly, and raspberries more dominant.

C1: Attractively herby with slightly greener fruit-rhubarb? Similar palate. This has lovely complexity aligned to dense, rich fruit. Supple tannins, great balance and length. Fantastic, distinctive port. (Dow)

Big vanilla and dark fruit aroma. Masses of fruit on the palate, red fruit and black cherries. Lots of pepper and spice and really balanced tannins. Excellent. (Nb I was fortunate to take the remains of a half bottle of this home, and a couple of days later it had opened up further and was delicious, with dark chocolate now in the mix)

Very deep, impenetrable dark colour. The Symington family have done a great job extracting colour and flavour components to the max! Production was tiny and it shows, this port is concentrated as anything. Floral aromas of violet and rockrose, intense dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, cassis, dark chocolate and freshly ground coffeee, spicy, with cinnamon and clove. Sweet, balanced, mouthwatering and complex with a very long finish accompanied by a pleasant dryness.18.5/20
