A gentle purple colour, one of the few wines to be purple in tone. Closed on the nose, revealing a little bruised fruit. Gentle tannins on the palate give a dry core to the fruit at first, but suddenly explode within the fruit to grab attention and make sure they aren’t missed. Parma violets and a lovely green tannic finish. An odd showing, very different from the other wines tasted alongside this one. A Port I’d like to try again. 85-87/100.

Pç17: soft palate, some Tayloresque grit. Light weight, with pineapple fruit. Not a giant for the ages, instead fine drinking for now.

Deep purple with ripe red cherry, blackberry and tobacco. Big but smooth tannins and with very nicely concentrated fruit and a good long finish with very intresting mid palate. I'd like to try this in the future. 18/20

D6: A dense, reserved, slight spicy fruity nose. Slight prickle of VA. A bright floral deliciousness to the sweetly red fruited palate. Balanced with good freshness through its good acidic cut. Another where spitting was not the preferred option!

I was (extremely) fortunate to be offered this as part of a tasting at Pocas in their home base. An impressive wine with smooth dark fruits in the nose. The palate shows overwhelming fruit; black cherries and plum overlaid with strawberries and redcurrants with superb spice layers. There's a wonderful drying tannic structure underlying and holding it all together, wonderful stuff!
