Sk17: good structure but no fruit showing. Will age well.

B9: Dusty note on nose; plenty of fruit… This was to be my last tasting note of the night and I didn’t exactly finish it! I recall it had the expected fruit than the corked bottle at a previous tasting (clearly) missed. Would be wrong to rate it but certainly nothing wrong with it or I would have written so!

Some dark fruits, cranberries, chocolate and spice. Strongly dominated by the tannins in the mouthfeel. Quite closed, but opened up with more time in the glass. Potential.

Tasted blind. Deep red colour; clean spirit and a touch of blueberry fruit on the nose. The sweet blueberry fruit comes through on the palate with a delightful roundness to the fruit. And then massive tannins grab hold and grip firmly! The tannins are huge and very firm around the delicious and fragrant fruit. The aftertaste is good with generous levels of fruit and a finish of intense dark chocolate. This Port has a huge, brutal palate but is a style I very much like. 90-92/100.
