Bottled 2003. 80% opaque, dark red wine. Mint and spice and, after a while, summer pudding with cream on the nose. Red currant on the mid palate, spice and some warm Panda liquorice on the medium-length finish. It's too soft to make old bones, but it is admirable wine for drinking over the next five years. Decanted and served with 1 hr aeration on 23/09/19.

The greater part of the same bottle re-tasted after being open for a couple of days (refrigerated for most of that time in a half litre bottle): if anything slightly darker; more pronounced mint on the nose; a new and attractive note of poached figs on the mid palate; some black cherry now showing up on the medium finish. Those who managed to pick some of this up in the recent M&S sale should be very pleased with it as a cellar defender. Retasted 25/09/19.
