10% opacity, amber, yellow rim, very clear. Dried citrus fruits on the nose, oranges and some tobacco. Smooth and delicate in the mouth. Nice balance, the fruit is drying out towards more citrus flavours. Very long finish, dried oranges.

Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachao, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Very light copper-red colour, 10% opaque. Sweet Turkish Delight on the nose with lots of dusty icing sugar, but less pronounced than the 1960. The same beautiful elegance on the entry, with the same gorgeous texture. A flavour which takes a while to develop on the palate, but develops to a very fine coffee and orange oil and lots of gentle heat. A massive, fragrant aftertaste which fades and lingers as a beautiful orange caramel on the very long finish. 88/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 6 hours.
