30% opacity, red-copper. Smokey toasted nose, oranges. Rich and full, smokiness, red fruits which are drying out. Real concentration in the flavours.

Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachão, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Deep brick red in colour, 60% opaque. Bottle stink on the nose although the wine has that same wonderful texture as found on the older vintages but this time with some light-touch tannins. The rose hip and vanilla flavours are slightly marred by the bottle stink. Rose water on the aftertaste. The Port is rich and deep with more heft than the older vintages – but also lacks some of their balance and finesse. Fragrant finish and good length. I'd like to try a good bottle of this vintage. Not rated. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 7 hours.
