Still a very full red, 90% opaque. On the nose and on the palate still a very young port, full of crunchy red fruit. Needs much more air (it had a 12 hour overnight decant) and/or much more time. Consumed with AHB, CPR, THRA, and guest OJW on 07/10/19 at the B&F.

Deep red, mature but still youthful and with a medium rim. A wonderful floral nose with rich and deep black cherries, so delightful to sniff. Smooth and silky texture, a little restrained on the palate at first but quickly turns into a huge mouthful of black cherry and bramble fruit with the remnants of the tannins poking through. Lots of wonderful sweet fruit on this big palate. A slight dry tone to the aftertaste, before the long and brooding bramble finish takes over. Served blind, this was guessed to be Fonseca 1985. 90/100. Tasted 07-Oct-19. Decanted 17 hours.

Tasted as part of a Bring a Bottle tasting at the Boot & Flogger.
