Rs70. Red pink, 30% opaque. Very dry, hint maraschino cherry, but dryness dominant. Light, especially at ending.

30% opacity, mature red. Lovely rich nose, candied red fruit - strawberry. Wonderful rich, full mouthfeel. Sweetness, red fruit, great structure and balance.

Copper-red in colour, 40% opaque. Loud and brassy nose, combining minerality with fruit. Lovely smooth texture. Lots of fruit and a great lively structure from the vibrant acidity; a Port which is full of life, mid-weight but demanding attention. Delicious soft fruit on the aftertaste. An assertive, dry edge to the finish and a fine lingering length. Just slightly too aggressive. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

‘Loud and brassy nose’ is a splendid title for a vinous autobiography.
