GC91. Dark red, 60% opaque. Nose dirty, bacterial. CSD, sitting to my right, said the nose was was “interesting but not flawed, very weak”. Palate thin and dry. Not right.

Nice and dark, 70% opaque. Not a great showing. A bit short on the finish.

Still quite deep colour. Something not right on the nose so came back an hour later - better, but very closed.
More development on the palate but alcohol out of balance.

Deep red and with a colour showing more youth than the Dow, Graham, Warre and Vesuvio tasted previously to this wine. A hint of bottle stink on the nose, which is otherwise very earthy. Deep black cherry and liquorice fruit but perhaps lacking a little complexity with the bottle stink tainting the palate slightly. Under this the palate comes across as being slightly closed, the aftertaste is warm showing some heat and red pepper fire with black cherry sweetness. A little sticky at the end with a good length; the length of the finishing suggesting there is a positive outlook for the future for this wine - even if in a decade or two. 85/100.
