Browning, with a hint of pale pink. On the nose spirity, with a hint of varnish and another note I couldn't identify but could perceive. Very pleasant in the mouth - very long sweet finish. An imperfect bottle but giving pleasure. Guessed to be a 1960s Colheita (at least by me). Tasted blind at B&F 9 January 2020. Courtesy NAC. Equal #3 WOTN.

25% opacity, Amber, tobacco yellow, very fine suspended particles. Fruit on the nose, apricots, quite extracted. Smooth entry, gentle heat and alcohol mid to late palate, fruit drying out, long aftertaste.

Part of a stash of bottles acquired from a "special" sale at C&B, costing the princely sum of £24 (including VAT)! The first (& worst looking) of three bottles.

Double decanted approximately 12 hours before the tasting. Thick yellow(?) wax capsule. No signs of seepage and clearly branded cork that came out in (mostly) one piece. Nose was a bit off, so decided to bring a back-up bottle just in case.
Will add my note from the tasting later...

@flash_uk - apricots! Thank you. That was my unidentified note.

A light and gentle ochre colour, 30% opaque. If this is a Port, it will be a mature Port. A sniff reveals this to be Port - and one smelling very old and mature, rich and heavily spiced; a delightful nose. Thick in texture, very spiced with mace and cinnamon. Sweet and aged, elegant with a bit of heat on the aftertaste before a wonderful, illuminating orange zest finish and a great length. Served blind this was thought to be either a very nice 1975 (or 1972) or a beautiful aged Port such as a Cockburn 1947. On balance guessed to be the younger range - a Niepoort Garrafeira 1977. 90/100. Tasted 09-Jan-20. Decanted 12 hours.
