Bottled under the "Sainsbury Taste The Difference" range. Deep red and youthful but not the colour of a freshly released Port; opaque with a medium rim. Little shows on the nose, which is very restrained. A vigorous swirl does force some sweet blackcurrant to show. Nice texture on the delicious palate, which is in the early stages of maturity with its round, sweet fruit. The palate is really enjoyable. Some hints of tannin show on the aftertaste, then a long Ribena finish. This is a very lovely Port. Served blind, this was guessed to be Sainsbury (Gould Campbell) 2003. 88/100. Tasted 09-Jan-20. Decanted 5 hours.
