Wine Society bottling, level half way up neck. Opened and decanted for four hours [to replace a disappointing Dow 1985]. A deep rich red, 60% opaque. Gloriously clear liquid. On the nose, christmas pudding, bit of sage, merest hint of pear drop. Garden herbs on the front palate, then a rich wash of beautifully balanced red fruit. Long dry finish with just the merest flick of alcohol. Stunning bottle of this port. Perfect now.
