1960 Croft

The second of two half bottles obtained from a Corney & Barrow charity sale in March 2019. The first bottle was mid-shoulder and leaking, so was consumed not long after acquisition - and was very pleasant as I recall. Nominally paid £10 each so probably a bargain.
Second bottle opened to remotely celebrate the 60th birthday of uncle tom.
Level - base of neck. Cork was a bit crumbly but generally OK. Very heavy sediment. Couldn't make out any bottler info on cork.
Decant +1hr
30% opaque, very pale, almost (but not quite) tawny.
On the nose, no fruit, leather, wood and liquorice.
In the mouth an intense liquorice taste, bitter orange?, hot - no tannin - so maybe slightly out of balance, very long.
Fully mature and a lovely drink. Shame it was only a half and don't have any more.
Decant +24hr
Nose now more open and developed. The liquorice now dominates the nose as well, but additionally showing some cooked black fruit.
In the mouth as before.
One small glass left for this evening.
