I have a number of 1960 VP's and have read various reports on them being very good for current drinking.
Why don't we see discussions on this vintage? Are they all gone? Are they rubbish?
Discuss.

1960 doesn't have a great reputation, but each of the three wines that I have drunk from this vintage (Croft, Nacional, Taylor's) have really impressed me. I get the impression that these are ports which are mature and at their peak or perhaps very slightly past their peak with lots of complexity and that perfect balance between secondary stage evolution restrained frutiness and tertiary stage tawny leatheriness.
If you've got plety of them, then now is the time to start drinking them! (in my opinion, at least)

I've had four or five different recently and have ranged from on the downward to drinking well.I wonder if the 80's will be comparable in another twenty years.
1960: I have Sandeman and Fonseca

I agree with the idea that 1960 is an older 1980.
If there is to be a UK-located 1960 horizontal, even in my absence, I could contribute Sandeman (I own two) and Fonseca (just one), subject to somebody being willing to collect from West Sussex.

I disagree that the 1960 is "1980-like" as mentioned, nonetheless I have had several from this vintage quite recently and all showed nicely:
Fonseca, Taylor, Sandeman (excellent) and Croft all delivered considerable pleasure.
