1882 Magazine from Symington Family Estates

You may have heard about the 1882 Magazine written and printed by Symington Family Estates as the first in a once-every-two-years series of magazines which they plan to use to record key events in the life of the company as it transitions from the fifth generation to the sixth generation of ownership.

It's 150 A4 pages of glorious pictures and interesting articles.

The Symingtons have very kindly sent me a couple of dozen copies to share with members of the Port Forum.

If you'd like one, please say so in this thread. If you'd like one sent to you, I'm happy to do so but will need to ask you for £5 to cover costs (within the UK) otherwise I will hold on to them and bring them with me when we are next able to meet together in person.

I'd ask the Danish importer if you could have a copy.

That’s a good selection! I’m very envious! Interesting that the Symington’s are doing another chocolate range. I’ve had the chocolate truffle bars made by Chocolataria Equado with either Graham’s Six Grapes or Cockburn Special Reserve (both of which are excellent) but the Royal Warrant on the box suggests this is by someone else.

It's a very good chocolate - with the Graham's LBV 2015 ganache.. Made to celebrate the 200 years of Graham's..

This is also made by Chocolataria EquadorImageImage

Ah. That’s what I’ve tried (albeit made with the Six Grapes and CSR). As you say, it’s excellent. The shops are also rather nice if you are in Porto and fancy a coffee with a piece of chocolate.

I thought the Royal Warrant on the box was for the chocolates rather than the Port! This could have been Charbonnel et Walker who I also really like or, if not, a descending scale through Prestat, Cadbury’s and then Bendicks...

Jon! What a pleasant surprise to hear from you again. Hope you're well during these bizarre times.

I've got plenty of copies left left. If you'd like one posted to you, drop me a PM with your address (or say you'd like me to deliver it in person when we have a tasting if you're in London). Postage and packing is £5.
