Indeed.

Of the 80s and 90s I do not recall seeing recent horizontals of 99, 98, 96, 95, 93, 92, 90, 89, 88, 87, 86, 84, 82, 81, 80

80 and 92 are in the diary. At least two more of those (87, 82) might be of more than merely academic interest, albeit I have very little to offer...

Not me for the horizontal of 1993.

Despite not being able to make the last '91 tasting, it probably is a little to soon to repeat unless you have a seriously burning desire.
82 and 87 would both be interesting, particularly the latter to me. '82 would be an obvious choice for next year, while '87 could work then, or anytime.

Maybe we put Terra Feita in early December, say Wednesday 1st, and 1987 in late January? [I am not offering to arrange the latter, I have precisely 0 bottles of 1987 port]

Arranging has traditionally been anti-correlated with ownership of relevant bottles.

While I am a little doubtful that organisational ability and broad port ownership are necessarily correlated (I think I am quite good at organising, but have barely 150 different ports) I feel it ill behoves me (as a mere amateur, and a recent arrival on this forum at that) to direct that those of this group who do possess such rare wines as were made in 1987 open them for my (our) delectation. Naturally were those fortunate and richly 1987-endowed individuals to offer them up, willingly, gladly, even, would I partake; but that is different. I feel that if one is saying "open wide your granaries" one ought to be a mujik in pre-revolutionary Russia not a city professional in twenty-first century London.

Disagree. People can volunteer to make available their bottles at a price of their choosing. If that works, all are happy. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.

And people can choose not to make available. Maybe that Dow 1878 is being saved for some other more important occasion without me — in which case, that’s that.
