Port and the Euros

Though I am in no way a football fan, after listening to India Women beat England Women in the One Day International I switched on the TV and watched the quarter final.

To keep me interested despite whatever happened on the pitch I opened a bottle of Morgan 1991. While a bit rough straight out of the bottle, by the time the game was over it had pulled itself together and was much better integrated.

What else have people opened to accompany the Euros?

I've been enjoying the football with some excellent craft beer, the highlight this evening has been a smoked wheat wine from Torrside.

A F75 from magnum which was almost as disappointing as Wales’ abject performance which it accompanied (it was very one dimensional especially compared to a T75 from magnum of a few weeks earlier). A W70 was hastily deployed which was far better and helped deaden the pain!

That’s some impressive drinking for a man on his own, two magnums of 1975 Port.

No, not quite, it was a regular bottle of the W70 and the wife’s birthday to boot and so we had a few friends around to assist! Also opened the Ch Port Club Tawny blend which all who tasted thought very good (the Ch tawnies are a cut above other Producers’ equivalents)

Or "Tuesday" as Julian would call it.

P&T for yours truly - the remarkable weather of the past few weeks helped steer my decision!

Poor form, not using a glass.
