A bottle purchased from the Duty Free shop at Heathrow Airport two years ago.

Slightly raised cork, which I only noticed after removing the lead capsule

Cork out in one piece and decanted cleanly off a nicely formed crust.

A lovely raspberry nose. The clour is quite light, much as I remember the Magnum I shared with others in the Douro in 06. Beautifully smoothand thick texture. The fruit is fading and anicede is coming through. Not any tannin to speak of and a little heat in the middle which fades into a nice dry finish. A promising start.

Darker now and still has that soft raspberry nose with no spirit. Even thicker texture than before and now has a lovely dark cherry truffle taste. The finish is long and mouthwatering with a little heat on the top of the palate.

This port is excellent now but there is nothing to suggest it will improve further. No tannins to speak of and the light colour at the time of decanting would worry me for the longer term potential. That said, it has definately not started to fade and could well stay on this plateau for a few years to come. For pure drinking pleasure this ranks well above average so I will give it a score of 8-6

This has been in the fridge in a 375ml bottle since decanting. Opened, poured and allowed to warm in the glass for 20 minutes.

Very similar nose, despite Jo's various nail treatment products that are currently in use

Fabulously thick and luxurious mouthfeel. The finish is now very tannic and dry, perhaps a phase that I missed by not tasting the other half of the bottle until 2 hours after decanting. This is truley wonderful stuff and I am now revising my score to 8-8

I can't believe I sat here drinking that horrible Morgan 89 last night whilst this sat in the fridge
