CANCELLED AGAIN: Wed 11 May 2022 - Quevedo Closure Experiment and Bring a Bottle to Share with Oscar
Unfortunately Oscar is now unable to make the date.
I’ve decided to cut my losses and not try to reorganise for another date.

I had a fabulous bottle to share — tell him to shape up and get with the plan.

Are we still planning on going ahead with this without Oscar? I'm just trying to work out plans for the next couple of months and when I should aim to be in London!
<Edit> I have just realised I'll need to be in Bristol this week so I cannot make it either way.

I’ve had a quick chat with Oscar. We’re probably going to try to tie this in with the Christmas tasting 2022 like we had planned to do last year.
But nothing will progress until after 31st March!

Re: NEW DATE: Wed 14 Dec 2022 - Quevedo Closure Experiment
Approaching a year on from the original planned date for this tasting, I have just updated the first post.
If enough people are interested in joining Oscar for dinner and a taste of the closure experiment wines on the 14th, I will progress plans.

It does appear to be. However, I am working on solutions.

Re: NEW DATE: Wed 14 Dec 2022 - Quevedo Closure Experiment
I've updated the first post to include Nadia Quevedo at the tasting and to add the details of venue and timing. Note that the Boot & Flogger were full on the 14th so we've switched over to 67 Pall Mall (thank you Neil!).
The room at 67 Pall Mall is a little smaller than the Red Room at the B&F so we're limiting the number of people attending to 12. Any further requests to join will go on the waiting list.
I've also switched the list on the first post over to full names to make it easier for Oscar and Nadia to know who's attending.

Re: NEW DATE: Wed 14 Dec 2022 - Quevedo Closure Experiment
I have just been reminded that the corkage charge at 67 Pall Mall is £30 per bottle.
The closure pack contains 4 bottles.
Consequently, please don't everyone bring an "interesting" bottle. Doing so would mean (a) too many bottles and (b) a large bill @ £30 per bottle corkage. Please would each odd-even pair (eg. Tony and Charles, Ben and Wolfgang) agree between them who will bring a single bottle and an appropriate way to share the cost of the bottle brought.
That gives 10 bottles to be consumed on the night between 12 people. Anyone still thirsty can buy from the bar or the extremely impressive wine list.

If we're really thirsty then there may be a few appropriate bottles in my on-site cellar.Alex Bridgeman wrote: ↑10:16 Tue 04 Oct 2022 Anyone still thirsty can buy from the bar or the extremely impressive wine list.

For those that haven't been to 67 Pall Mall before, there is a dress code but it's fairly relaxed. Chaps are expected to wear a collared shirt and jacket, but ties are not required.
Flip-flops, speedos, "wife-beater" vests, shell-suits, football shirts, etc are generally discouraged.
@Alex - could you possibly make our VIP guests aware?
