p'n'decant'n'p then left in glass for 15 mins.
95% opaque, crimson rim
A swirl brings a rich nose of black currant and tobacco. Like a younger Fonseca '77.
Immediately congruent palate with big hit of fruit - delicious! - and then the chocolate tannins build and build and build and then some agen prune arrives. Some drier tannic notes - leather, coffee, arrive rather later.
This is fine port; young, and twenty odd years from maturity, but exciting and enjoyable to try in this format.
