2000 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Shown at the Symington's 1994 Library Release launch event.

Despite the extra age compared to the 2003, this wine is darker and less evolved than its younger sibling. Tighter on the nose than the 2003, showing fresh red berries; sweet and fragrant with a lovely perfume - structured and quite precise. A wonderful palate. Generous fragrant fruit: berries, perfume and terrific balance supported by gentle elegant tannins. Chewy "Juicy Fruits" aftertaste which develops into a gentle and delicious blackcurrant finish with some fine layering of flavour. A Port which is soft and fragrant, one that will saunter through life gently and confidently while slowly changing. 93/100. Tasted 02-Nov-2021. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
