I haven't seen any write-ups on the overall night nor the individual reviews. Has no one posted yet or is there something wonky with my access to the forum?

@ Mike J.W. - no-one has posted yet. In my case, apologies, but life is very full right now and I am having to schedule my pleasures. In brief, buy Fonseca, Vesuvio, Warre, Dow, but the overall standard is very high so if you have most of the others you will not be disappointed.

I completely understand. I wanted to make sure there wasn't something wonky going on where I couldn't see postings. Reading the write-ups are fun and interesting. I get to live vicariously through the postings as we don't have nearly as many tastings on my side of the pond. John M. did recently host a smaller '94 vertical a few weeks back. We'll be doing a write-up on that for one of the FTLOP newsletters.

Oh and I have plenty of the Fonseca (4 cases give or take) and the Vesuvio (approximately 2 cases). The Warre and Dow, not so much, so I'll have to get on that.

Apologies to Mike and others. My thoughts were that 1994 produced some delicious wines. I was surprised and delighted by the Calem, which was (for me at least) the best of the 1994 Ports from Sogevinus. There was nothing which I disliked, and two wines in particular which I felt really needed more time (Fonseca and Dow). Given its reputation and Parker score, I was surprised how advanced and mature the Taylor was - but it made for lovely drinking on the night.

The Wine of the Night vote had Fonseca way ahead of Vesuvio, which was quite far ahead of Dow.

George, do you have a note of the bottle number of the Vesuvio 1994 which you opened for this tasting? I try to track these things but forgot to take a note of the number on the night. Thanks.
