Bottled in 2019 (Ramos Pinto habitually bottle after 4 years and carry out a single bottling run). Deep red colour with a medium rim. Very attractive floral fruit nose. A beautiful texture to the wine, lovely sweet bramble fruit - floral and sweet. There is a nice dryness to the palate, with soft tannins helping the fine balance. There is a warm aniseed aftertaste and a long, dry but fruity finish. This is a fine LBV than can be drunk now or over the next 20 years. (We did briefly talk about a magnum of 1992 LBV we had tasted in 2017.) 89/100. Opened 1 hour. Tasted 25-Nov-2021.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
