Like the 10YO sold by Ramos Pinto, this is also a single quinta wine with all the grapes used to make this wine being grown at Bom Retiro. The 20YO blend includes some reserve wine from 1924, this is the oldest wine in the blend. Red-mahogany in colour; 60% opaque. A lovely honeyed nose, honey and dried red fruit - the nose is big and delicious. Great balance to the palate, flavours of gentle honey and fragrant orange zest; a combination which is delightfully mouthfilling. Such a good elegance and a very long finish. This is a very different style from the 10YO with far more balance and poise and less youthful brashness. A really nice Port. 91/100. Open 1 hour. Tasted 25-Nov-2021.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
