Yay! Phil can make it. Was disappointed when I thought you would miss this one as I know you have wanted to be at a Churchill tasting, look forward to seeing you later.

Hurrah for getting PhilW together with the best of the 1982 ports.

Many thanks to Neil for organising; am very pleased to have been able to join at the last minute, as I really enjoy the Churchill wines, and good to see Johnny and Jamie again.

I've always been a big fan of the '82 and enjoy the' 85; for me the '84 Fojo also showed very well, and the '07 was one to watch for the future (and quote delicious now also).

I had to depart early for work reasons, but was very happy to have been able to attend at all; very enjoyable.

I'd like to add my thanks to both Neil for organising and to the Churchill Graham's for attending and providing some great insights into the ports we were drinking.

Really enjoyed the evolution of the various ports particularly the shift from the 80s into the 90s.

And yes, I made it onto my coach! Heading back to Bristol now.

Have now added most of the supplier/provenance info and some of the pictures. Please add anything that's missing and tasting notes.

EDIT - 1991 picture has been added + older style 1991 for interest.

This was a delightful tasting. Johnny and Jamie are excellent company. Many of the wines were new to me, admirable (and rare, and supplied with Johnny and Jamie's assistance) wines from the late eighties and early nineties. The younger wines showed considerable promise.

Fervent thanks to nac for organising - the logistics were a particular nightmare given the transport difficulties, and so I am even more than usually appreciative.
