NV Quevedo Tawny 20YO (Claudia's Blend) (bottled 2021)

Post by winesecretary »

From 90ml.

P'n'P

Distinctly orange rim on this light red and barely opaque wine with brownish tints (reminds of that old saying of Emmanuel Giboulot's, that 'colour is not a function of pinot noir'... perhaps 'colour is not a function of 20 year old tawny'?).

Nose redolent of nuts and poached quince. A not unattractive heady note.

Palate surprisingly light and fresh. More orchard fruits than bush fruits, echoing the quince note. Medlar! That's it.

Finishes very dry for a tawny.

Very attractive this. Very moreish. My Q20YOTOFN (Quevedo 20 Year Old Tawny Of The Night)

Tasted 24/1/22
