Douro Olive Oil - An Emergency!

Post by DRT »

This evening I discovered to my horror that I am half way through my last bottle of Douro Olive Oil

I thought I had a six-pack in a cupboard but it turned out to be an empty box.

AHB has kindly offered to attempt to organise a bulk purchase for the team if there is sufficient interest.

Please post here if you are interested and perhaps AHB could make tentative enquiries about prices?

Holy crap. We're so connected. We're vibing.

This morning, I was just grabbing one of my last bottles, and thought, "Uh oh. Must enquire with Alex about acquiring more of these!"

Yes please, can I have some more? Two dozen would be wonderful, please.

Thank you!

We ran out last month (although there is supposed to be a small amount somewhere I have yet to lay my hands on, if it is still there).
Either way I will be interested again also, please.

I have never managed to lay my hands on any. But I had dinner with DROJW tonight and she said she had tasted an attractive Taylors one this week.

What style are you interested in? More 'herbaceous'/'green', more mature....

It’s still there. We just need to be in London at the same time…

We have the potential for a multiple dozens order, which is hereby declared "sufficient interest".

Could AHB please do his thing? Thank you.

I would want some too. When will the next shipment of Quinta do Noval's olive oil come through?

There are two varieties of Noval olive oil available - there is now a special edition centenario as well as the standard blend. I must confess my reaction to the news was a little cynical, I speculated if the special edition was made from olives grown on trees with original rootstocks and not grafted. I must learn not to be so cynical.

However, the good news is that there is plenty of the normal olive oil available to us. If people let me know below or privately how many bottles they would like @ £10 per 50cl, I will place an order. Your interest above on this thread was speculative. Your interest below is a firm commitment which will lead to a request for cash in the next week or two.

Let me know too if you'd like any of the centinario edition @ £20 per 50cl. If there is interest and we can, between us, get a multiple of 6 bottles, I'll also order some of those.

A dozen bottles of the normal oil please, and also a bottle of the Centinario if there is enough interest. "strict selection of the very finest olive oil from Quinta do Noval, produced from ancient trees with very low yields". Interesting. "we found it so exceptional that we decided to bottle it separately". Hmmm. I'm also a little cynical, their normal oil is already exceptional, but perhaps it is even better. Anyway, I'm now curious enough to do a tasting and find out haha. Thanks.

Six of the standard please, and, if a group order is made of the super-premium one, a single bottle of that.
