1980 Berry Brothers (Warre)
Still looks young and dark.

Big rich port. Odd slightly acrid note to the finish at first for me, but which faded later.

This is apparently the identical blend to the straight Warre.

Consumed 2/2/22

Warre. Deep red, mature but with significantly more red in the tone than the 1977. A lovely nose of sweet dried redcurrants. Balanced entry, generous fruit with blackcurrant and cracked pepper. Youthful with a lot of vigour. A huge aftertaste of blackcurrant juice thins and hints of black liquorice. This is a big, delightful and delicious wine. 92/100. Tasted 02-Feb-22. Decanted 8 hours.

55% opcaity, mature red. Liquorice on the nose. Dryness, liquorice, good body, slight medicinal notes, some tannin softening in the background and some red fruit. Not bad!
