1997 Berry Brothers (Warre)
Dark as anything.
Perfumed blackberry jam on nose and palate.
Slightly acrid note on palate at first but filling out later.
Young yet (this was a magnum), but developing nicely.

Re: 1997 Berry Brothers
Warre, from magnum. Dark red, almost black in tone; opaque. A big fruity nose, sweet and fragrant. Young black fruit with a good grip. Well balanced on the palate, delivering a lovely mouth feel, rich and layered. Fruit driven aftertaste and a delicious chewy finish. Just fabulous, youthful but starting to drink nicely. Wine of the night. 94/100. Drunk 02-Feb-22. Decanted 10 hours.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
