Prune, damson jam, black cherry jam, hints of citrus fruit, watermelon, mint, bell pepper, it is fresh and somewhat mineral on the palate with its high acidity beautifully balanced against the sweetness. The tannins are smooth and the palate is packed with flavour. Long finish with the plummy, cherry flavours lingering and following through the finish all the way. Very complex, excellent port that can only get better.

Lovely deep red. Violets on the nose, very promising. Warm rich fruit on the palate and a nice chocolate note on the finish. This bottle is showing very young, but I do very much like it.

Consumed 6/4/22.

Opened at 12.00, decanted at 06.30 and drunk at 20.30.

Deep red colour with an opaque centre and a narrow rim. Big nose of powerful fruit giving a deep and rich bouquet. Silky texture on the palate; dark cherry fruit with perfect poise - rich and with fine layering of flavours. Black cherry, hints of dark chocolate tannins on the aftertaste with the tannins giving a slight grip. Long black liquorice finish. Very impressive Port. 93/100. Tasted 06-Apr-22. Decanted 14 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

65% opacity, dark red, Bramble fruit on the nose. Full mouthfeel, silky, nice and soft, blackberries and very faint tannin. Lovely port.
