Excellent. Will assume you're coming then.

Doh. I have now discovered that my lunch planned for the 5th, is in fact dinner, so I will need to back out of the LBV tasting. If my bottle is dearly desired, I could drop it off at the B&F on the 5th on my way to dinner which is at the Oxo Tower.

Shame. Should be OK for bottles, so don't worry.

There doesn't appear to be any mad rush for this one, so I've put you in with adoption of my Delaforce 1995.

Excellent news!

Have unadopted you & updated the list.
Could you also confirm your bottle choice.
Would like to get the line-up settled this week.

Ben - if you don't get a response from Julian within the next couple of days, let's just assume you're adopting one of my bottles.
Julian has confirmed via private message that he is willing to offer one of his bottles for adoption!

Regrettably, I will now have to excuse myself from this tasting, since my wife is away on business and therefore I am in the chair when it comes to childcare responsibilities. Enjoy!

Placemats: please could the organiser select which of the offered Ports are to be tasted.

Placemats are traditionally slightly traditional, in that they at least echo previous precedent for the theme. So:
  • Jan 2021 — could reuse the font /GothamNarrow-Bold;
  • Mar 2018 — not much liked;
  • Apr 2013 — inconsistent mess;
  • May 2012 — not serious;
  • Jan 2011 — I apologise for afflicting this on innocent drinkers;
  • June 2008 — not much liked;
  • May 2008 — no. Hell no! Indeed, the code that made this possible was removed from the software in May 2011, so, praise the Lord, this extinct phylum of sin is no longer reachable.

@jdaw1 - I cannot remember the last time I had either a 1981 or a 1986 port, with the exception in the former case of a Quevedo white and in the latter case of a TTF. So, while I am not the organiser, can I put in a plea for 1981 and 1986?

Yes, and no. Somehow the 1986 has been ‘stolen’, so I am bringing for me and for BP adoption, the 1981 and 1982. (The 1984 has not been stolen, but has been promised to Harry, so off-limits.)

Suggest we add an extra spot or 2 in case extra bottles appear

Placemats appear to be correct, but as per Charles' suggestion, a couple of spares might be a good idea.

Placemats updated.

My preference would be not to Audouze, but to open and decant on the morning. Is there an official decanting request?

Not sure yet - will advise.
Won’t be too much prep as there’s only eight of us, so no pre-pouring.

Published kick-off time is 1800 for 1830, but suspect I’ll be there sometime between 1700 and 1730.

We’re currently in the Red Room (the bigger room), but we might be moved into the Green Room. Could whoever gets there first please check?

As we’re only eight, we’ll just pour at the table.

The Rosa 90 is a gratis bottle from Tony. It’s a bit leaky and has lost most of its colour, but I’ve had a similar bottle that was just about drinkable. So, don’t expect much from it.

I’m intending to double-decant my bottles on the morning of the tasting. Could others please do similar if their schedules allow.
