1970 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, ruby rather than red mahogany, 50% opaque. Subdued on the nose showing a little cherry jam. Smooth and lovely palate with hints of tannins sitting in sweet black cherry; a big and rich palate with good complexity. Generous cherry fruit from start to finish. A really lovely wine, still quite youthful. Known to be 1970 but shipper withheld this was guessed to be Dow. 91/100. Drunk 26-Apr-22. Decanted 9 hours.

55% opacity, rich, full red. Soft fruit on the nose. Full mouthfeel, chewy, concentrated fruit - cherries. Dry, some tannin lingers.
