1989 Champalimaud

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Made from grapes sourced from Quinta do Cotto. Double decanted at 21.00 and drunk at 18.45.

Tawny appearance, mature and looking old. Smokey nose. Light on the palate bringing slightly baked fruit, thin with the alcohol protruding. Hot aftertaste of brandy and bitter orange before a good length of burnt sugar. Known to be 1989 vintage but the shipper undisclosed, this was guessed to be Ferreira. 80/100. Drunk 26-Apr-22. Double decanted 22 hours.
