Churchill Online Tasting - today 10 May 2022

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Is anyone (apart from me) planning to join the Churchill Tasting tonight?

Is there any interest in a post tasting wrap up?
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Wasn't aware of it. Is this a club tasting or something wise, and what are you tasting?

It's an email sent out to Port Club members but which Churchill's have been happy to have others join. Johnny Graham and Ricardo Nunes took us through their Dry Aperitif White, the 20 YO Tawny and a special Club 2017 LBV which was a small parcel of the 2017 vintage port lotes which they held back from bottling in 2019/20 so they could bottle it after 4 years and a club LBV.

Interestingly the guidance was that while it is delicious to drink now, the recommendation is that we lay it down and mature it for a good few years.

Only seeing this now Alex I would have been on for a chat, next time perhaps? Short but sweet (pardon the pun).
