Selection of 1975 Port for Sale

Post by 1975Port »

Good day
I have a small selection of port available for offers, as I have no idea if its worth anything, I'm selling as I don't really drink plus we don't really like port.
I'm happy to sell as a batch or induvial. The Port is based near Bristol UK, happy for local collections and also happy to ship via carrier.

The port formed part of my grandparents collection and has been stored for the last 30 years under the stairs, which was dark and cool, it was horizontally stored and maybe even turned looking at the red tabs on the bottles, this would have certainly been something my grandfather would have done if necessary. images can be supplied if required.

Any other questions, please drop me a line, you'll likely know more then I would but happy to help where possible.

Available bottles

1975s are old, but have never been a great vintage. Of that vintage one of the best can be Croft. They are about £50 retail, and a seller can hope to achieve about half retail (Selling Port? Port for sale? Excellent. Start here.). Mostly, it’s a birth-year market, rather than a fine-drinking market.

No skin in game being other side of the pond, but the under stairs have not been kind to the bottles. Most show signs of seepage, which means conditions their weren’t so good for long term storage. That will affect, by a great deal, their overall worth. Which isn’t a lot to begin with, sorry to say.
