NV Kopke Tawny 50YO (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Half bottle filled in 2022. A lovely amber colour, 30% opaque. Honey and menthol on the nose, perhaps being served a little warm. Nice texture, slightly thickened. Good acidity and freshness, generous orange and citrus with a delightful floral overtone. A lovely complexity on the palate. Warm peppercorn and honey aftertaste and a long, voluminous honey and lemon finish. Exquisite and elegant. 95/100. Pop and pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
